“I knew I wanted a coffee that was as organic and ethical as it could possibly be, and that was the starting point for Krafty.

I also wanted a coffee that would appeal across the board – an ‘easy drinker’, if you like.

We tried exactly the same blend as a lighter roast, but the sugars didn’t come out; it didn’t work until we
medium-roasted it.”

Peruvian coffee tends to be very chocolatey in flavour, while high-grown Ethiopian coffee is inherently citrussy, with an almost wine-like taste.

The Peruvian beans come from a female-only co-operative, Café Feminino, which is part of a larger foundation working to improve women’s lives in coffee-producing countries around the globe.
