A beautifully silky smooth coffee made from a blend of Brazilian and Costa Rican beans, medium roasted to give a wonderful depth of flavour.
White Gold makes a great afternoon pick-me-up, and goes beautifully with desserts. A real “foodie’s” coffee, well worth taking time out for.
“I wanted a medium roast, one that would be smoother than Black Jack, and be more of an indulgence.
Using Costa Rican beans was key to getting the right ‘texture’. And it’s great that Costa Rican coffee tends to be produced to high ethical standards – profits are often ploughed back into education and development, and reforestation programmes.”
The Costa Rican beans used in White Gold are highly prized. Known as Grano de Oro – golden beans – in Spanish, they’re also called SH beans (Strictly Hard beans), which are beans grown at very high altitude; in general, the ‘higher’ the coffee, the smoother the taste.
They bring a mild smoothness and a very soft, stone-fruit-like acidity to this blend.
White Gold has a buttery, caramel sweetness with some vanilla notes and a gentle acidity that lingers.
This delicious medium roast has the body to cut through milk and has bags of flavour.
As an espresso it produces a deep golden crema, hence the name!
